So, about a year ago I wrote how I randomly met a guy from my hometown and what an unbelievable crazy coincidence it was. Well, I got a story that can top it now. A few weeks ago I was talking to my mom and she mentioned she ran into
Forget What I Said Before. My Love from Another Star Sucks.
So a few days ago I recommended watching a Korean Drama called My Love From Another Star. It’s all the rage in China, I had just started watching it and it wasn’t bad. Now that I’ve finished it I want to say… I TAKE IT BACK! Don’t watch the show!
Graduation Weekend
If you’ve read this blog even a little you probably have a good idea of how much I love my students. I was going to write a summed up blog post called Ode to my Students, but then I realized that this entire blog was an ode to them, and
When you Just Can't Take Life in China–or Pulling a Runner

Yes Virginia, Chinese People DO Protest
Yesterday in my Weixin “moments” (similar to ‘the wall’ in Facebook) a number of bloody/riot pictures started showing up. Men clutching their bleeding heads, hundreds of people marching down the highway and other pictures which aroused my curiosity. Then a foreign friend was going to the airport called me
5 Signs I’ll Never be Chinese
Recently I listed 10 signs that you have lived in China too long. Initially strange things that I’m now used to after living here for 5 years. But what about the opposite end of the spectrum? What about the common things in China that I will never get used to?
Some More Chinglish
I’ve been sticking close to home and haven’t come across too much chinglish, but of course it’s unavoidable. I’ve noticed for the most part, chinglish is being cleaned up and now the humor lies in the context, not necessarily the bad grammar.
