Did you see the new tab at the top of the page? The Epic Quest tab? I just added it a few days ago.
So what’s an Epic Quest? It’s turning your life into a video game. Each new thing you’ve always wanted to do, each quest, is worth 20%. As you do new things, and accomplish new tasks, you get to level up. So for every 5 things accomplished you get to go up a level. Yeah, okay, it’s basically a bucket list, but sounds so much cooler when you call it an Epic Quest.
It’s not my idea. I got it from one of my all-time favorite bloggers Steve over at NerdFitness.com. I love the idea. I’m a list person, especially a to-do list and there is nothing I like more than crossing things off. In fact I’ve made many of these kinds of lists in the past but always end up losing them. (When I was in New Zealand in 2000 I made a list of “100 things I want to do before I turn 100.” I’d love to find that list and see how many I have accomplished.)
So now I’m putting it on my blog so I won’t lose it.
I actually originally wrote this list last year, in a notebook. So I was happily surprised to see that in the past year I had crossed off two things from the list! And some goals were totally irrelevant now which I also see as a good sign (for instance one said “pass HSK 4” but that level is too low for me now, so the new goal is pass HSK 6.)
So go take a look at my Epic Quest of Awesomeness and tell me what else I should do. As I hopefully begin accomplishing the list and crossing things off, I want to add new things too. What do you suggest?
And my question for you is…what’s on your Epic Quest? And what level are you on?
