Not as Bad as I Thought – Writer. Traveler. Tea Drinker.

I usually travel during the summer, and have never stayed in Lin’an during a holiday before. I was a bit disappointed I had to hang around town, but it turns out that only 3 weeks into summer, things are going great. For instance? Pool party! I haven’t swam in years, but it was even more fun than I remembered.

Pool party! I’m the giant pale beam of light in the water. I might have gotten a slight tan while swimming, but luckily no burn.

The pool was at a house in Shanghai called 'The Mansion.' Located In a suburban area they have a DJ (in the bubble window), bar, BBQ and a ton of clean showers and toilets. Will kept obsessing over his (very, very short) hair. He even carried a little comb in his swim trunks and every time he wanted to make me laugh he pulled it out and started combing his hair.

Chinese, Americans, Brits, French, Australian among others. People of every countries get along well at a pool side on a sunny day.

They had a little beach, with bar and bean bag chairs.

Pool was open till 10 and we took advantage of almost every moment. The days are sweltering at around 100 degrees so even night swimming is comfortable.

If this is what summer is like around here, then I could get used to this pretty easily.
