Pizza Fail

The Chinese on the package roughly translates to "Asian superman gourmet food." Or maybe "Gourmet food for Asian supermen." Something like that. Either way, hilarious.

To get good pizza in China is pretty hard. Outside of the major cities, finding pizza is difficult, and when you do find it, it’s just not quite right. Pizza Hut is a big chain here in China, but it is for the Chinese market and has strange toppings, hardly and cheese, and a thick, slightly sweet crust.
So I was psyched when I saw these little pizza slices in the supermarket. From the picture it looked a lot like crappy frozen pizza you get in America. But crappy frozen pizza is still pizza, so I was excited to bring it home and try it. (I wasn’t even deterred when one of the packages said “Meet Flavor.”) Cheese is hard to come by, and this little puppy looked like it had some. And pepperoni. Yum.
And then I got it home and opened it up.
Pizza fail. When will I learn to stop getting my hopes up?

Hahaha. Excuse me if I just burst out laughing. That is one terrible let down. I remember on my trip to Beijing a few years back searching for good pizza. It is hard to come by, but sometimes you find gems. Keep on hoping!

Sadly, I STILL ended up eating it. I didn’t enjoy it, but I did eat every bite. That’s how pizza depraved I’ve become…
