A few days ago Ryan took part in the Life of a Day project. It’s a project where people all over the world were invited to film their life on July 24th, and upload the video on Youtube. The filmmakers will then edit pieces together and the film will premiere at Sundance in 2011.
Ryan and a student went out all day taking video and I thought I’d share it here. Remember, this is not a movie, but rather unedited rough footage of daily life. There are more videos up at our Youtube page if you’d like to see.
This one is from the market that is nearby our house. Ryan and Fallen, one of his students, went in the early morning when the locals were getting set up and the stands had a lot of fresh veggies and meat.
Here’s another video of the People’s Park in Lin’an. There was nothing special about this night, the park is usually this filled every weekend night! We love just coming down here to people watch. Every city in China has its own People’s Park and it is the best place to go to discover what the locals are like and learn more about the culture. You never know what you are going to see at the park.
